Chinese Translation

The Chinese language

Some form of Chinese is spoken as a native language by over 1 billion people across the world. Mandarin, Wu, Min, Cantonese and Xiang are several different regional groups of Chinese with Mandarin being the most popular type, spoken by approximately 850 million people. Standard Mandarin is based on the Beijing dialect and as well as being one of the official languages of the United Nations, it is also one of the four official languages of Singapore. The Chinese script is written in characters known as hanzi. In spoken Chinese, words can be made up of several symbols with a separate character with its own meaning, representing each syllable. In Chinese script, there are no spaces between characters and therefore, the meaning, pronunciation and grouping of characters must be worked out.

Before undertaking a Chinese translation project for you, we will ascertain precisely where the document is to be read, so as to ensure the version of Chinese is correct. We will also ensure that we translate in accordance with the target readers, bearing in mind their age, knowledge, education and other factors.

For fluent, lucid and crystal-clear Chinese translations, you can trust LS-Localise to carry out a superb job, capturing the meaning, essence and spirit of the language - and ensuring that our translation has all the fluency and vibrancy of the original Chinese text.

Impeccable Chinese translation with mother tongue fluency

We specialise in translations into Chinese that are rendered with all the fluency of a piece of original Chinese text. Our translators speak Chinese as their mother tongue and are experts in capturing both the meaning and the spirit of the piece – especially since they will have been chosen both for their Chinese fluency and their specialist knowledge of the subject matter to be translated.

Your Chinese translation project will be supervised by a competent linguist with capabilities similar to those of the translator, and will be proof-read by a second native speaker. Your final document will be supplied to you in whatever format you require.

Chinese translation tips

The amount of text will increase or decrease after being translated, so keep in mind the size and layout of your original documents, and allow for their growth or shrinkage in their newly translated versions.
